Forgiveness is not just an act. It is a POSITION.

"Father, I come to You in the powerful name of Jesus. As Your child, I know it is a foundational kingdom principle to forgive and ask for forgiveness. You have forgiven me for more than I know and when I am faced with forgiving others, please strengthen me in Your love so that forgiveness is always my position. As I continue to fill my heart with Your word, let me begin each day with the position of forgiveness and love which blocks any act of offense from entering my heart. I choose to forgive all who have hurt me--intentionally or unknowingly. I tear up the record that has been kept against them in my mind and I break agreement with the spirit of accusation. I ask for the soul-ties of unforgiveness, hurt, bitterness, anger, pride, resentment, pain, retaliation, revenge or any such iniquity that forms a bond to be BROKEN and for freedom to result. I seek to be released from the tormenters that come as a result of having unforgiveness in my life. I lean into Your peace and rest knowing that You will work the ministry of reconciliation through me in Your way and Your time. I first seek to be reconciled fully to YOU and any other relationship status is in Your hands to do as You wish. I humble myself before You and commit myself to the process of becoming more and more like You."
Scripture References about Forgiveness

Numbers 14:18
"The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation."

Psalm 103:10-12
"He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us."

Psalm 51:1–2
"Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin!"

Matthew 6:9–15
"Pray then like this: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

Acts 2:38-39
"And Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.'”

1 John 1:7–10
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

Hebrews 9:22
"Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins."

Psalm 32:1–7
"Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him. You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance."

Matthew 18:21–22
"Then Peter came up and said to him, 'Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?' Jesus said to him, 'I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.'"

Luke 23:34
"And Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.'  And they cast lots to divide his garments."
