Pentecost

Pentecost isn't just a day we celebrate that happened over 2,000 years ago. It is an ancient feast celebrated by the Israelites every year after harvest time.

The Pentecost after the Passover of Jesus' crucifixion was the powerful, magnificent birth of the Body of Christ!  Holy Spirit rushed in with the SOUND of a mighty wind and placed FIRE on the living sacrifices of those waiting according to the instructions of Jesus.
---
Acts 2:2-3  And suddenly A NOISE like a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And TONGUES THAT LOOKED LIKE FIRE appeared to them, distributing themselves, and a tongue rested on each one of them.
---
Before Jesus ascended, He gave a verbal commission to the disciples of how they were to reach the world, make disciples and expand the Kingdom. They must have wondered "How are we going to reach the world?"

When the Person of Holy Spirit rushed them with full power it was not a question of 'how will we do this' but "WHO COULD STOP US??"

The unstoppable love of God poured out into the streets with the languages of the world to all those who were gathered for the Feast from all walks of life! Peter addressed the city with a voice of boldness--not a microphone or megaphone--but a CRY!

GOOD MORNING, JERUSALEM AND THE REST OF THE WORLD!!
---
Acts 2:14-17  Men of Judea and all you who live in Jerusalem, know this, and pay attention to my words.  For these people are not drunk, as you assume, since it is only the third hour of the day;  but this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel:  ‘And it shall be in the last days,’ God says, 'That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh...'
---
And He still pours out on hungry, waiting hearts today.

Come, Holy Spirit!

Fire us up and give us a cry for the nations!
